WHO and partners launched a 2026–2035 roadmap for hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, including pre-eclampsia. It organizes action across five areas: research and innovation, norms and standards, access to products, implementation, and advocacy and accountability.

Hypertensive disorders complicate an estimated 10–15% of pregnancies and remain a major cause of maternal and newborn harm. A shared roadmap can align research, procurement and care delivery, but publication alone does not fund or implement those changes.

Country adoption, investment in diagnostics and medicines, implementation in lower-resource settings, and public reporting against the roadmap’s 2035 targets.
