What happened
Absci outlined preliminary plans for a randomized, placebo-controlled Phase 2 study of ABS-201 in people with surgically diagnosed endometriosis and moderate to severe pain. The company expects the study to span more than 10 countries and begin in mid-2027.
Why it matters
ABS-201 is a potentially disease-modifying antibody designed with an AI-enabled drug-discovery platform. The Phase 2 study has not yet begun, so the announcement is a development blueprint rather than evidence that the treatment works in endometriosis.
What to watch
Final protocol and regulatory clearances, Phase 1 safety and pharmacokinetic data, the pain and lesion outcomes selected, participant diversity and whether results are independently published.
